a letter from david van

a letter from david van andel In a word, grateful. That’s the best way to express how my wife Carol and I – and everyone else affiliated with Van Andel Institute – feel. And it’s because of generous people just like you. Our dedicated scientists and educators work long and difficult hours to unravel the mysteries behind catastrophic illness and disease. But none of it would be possible without the gracious support of friends and supporters who share our vision, our mission… our hearts. The good news is that with your help, we can stop diseases like cancer and Parkinson’s. It’s been nearly 20 years since my late parents, Jay and Betty Van Andel, undertook the ambitious mission to create a world-class biomedical research and science education organization in Grand Rapids. It not only succeeded, but it is flourishing, thanks in large part to you – a community of people committed to improving the health and enhancing the lives of current and future generations. There is no time to wait. Cancer alone kills some 570,000 Americans annually – the equivalent of a mid-sized city. The good news is that with your help, we can stop diseases like cancer and Parkinson’s. We are not patient in our quest to change the very course of humanity. We are geared to perform faster and more efficiently. And we are eager to collaborate with other specialists all over the globe to make it happen sooner. 3 GIVE TODAY AT VAI.ORG/GIVE
